Widows Harvest, Miwani, Kenya

Abigael Atieno is the Coordinator for Widows Harvest Kenya. She has rented a meeting place that will hold up to 40 widows. There are now approximately that many widows meeting each week for prayer in this facility. To date Widows Harvest Kenya has built 3 new homes for widows and the following are excerpts from reports that Abigael has sent to me regarding the fruit that this Ministry is bearing:

First Letter

Dear Brother Andrew,

Widows now feel a common bond prevailing in their lives and it has really been a blessing to me. My life personally has been changed since Widows Harvest Mininistries started in our church. I have seeen widows start to help themselves as widows and it is very amazing the way things happen. We had our annual convention for three days which ended on sunday and I tell you widows did most of the work every day.

I am praying so hard for the Lord to meet my needs since our widows live long distances from each other and some of them are old and cannot travel to our meetings. I have to hire a van to transport some widows that are helping in my office to see them and take prayers in their houses. Widows themselves, in the midst of their poverty, have been donating their funds to enables us travel. Keep us in prayers and the Lord will do it all. I shall be giving you all the progress report periodically.

With His blessings,
servant Abigael Atieno.

Second Letter

This second letter written by her husband, Pastor Joshua Atieno, also speaks of the fruit that this Ministry as begun to produce.

Dear servant andrew,

How are you doing? The lord is good and i hope he is guiding and protecting you. As a result of the widows prayer, one widow who was involved in occultic powers got saved on Sunday and declared Christ as her personal savior. This is to me a very great achievement of Widows Harvest Kenya. May the lord help you to continue to serve him.

In his service,
Pastor Atieno

The very basic need for financial help for our Kenya Project is approximately $350.00 a month. If you would like to help keep alive what the Lord is doing in and through widows in Kenya you can make donations through this web site, or by sending them to the address listed under contact. 100% will go to the Kenya Project.

Third Letter

Dear brother Andrew,

The Widows Harvest -Kenya is holding a widows crusade on the 28th of october to 30 of october 2002.

The crusade is aimed at bringing widows from other churches in Kenya for prayer and fellowship and to create awareness of widow's prayer movement in Kenya. My team has invited pastors from other churches too to attend the crusade. Thank God about seven pastors and ministry leaders have responded positively. The saint Meshak fellowship church of Kenya with a membership of 2000 followers have accepted to release 100 widows from their church to attend the crusade. Bishop Hesborn who is the leader of St. Meshak is very pleased with Widows Harvest Kenya and will release some of his pastors to attend the crusade. He will attend the whole crusade too. It is very interesting to see most pastors now realizing the importance of widows in their churches. The lord is just doing an amazing work there.

We shall need prayer for the lord to provide a way to hire two buses to transport the widows to the crusade venue and make some food for the widows and pastors that will attend. I also needed some kind of message from you to teach pastors that will attend the crusade. You may just write some teaching that the lord may give to you and I will forward it to my pastors to be given to the pastors that will attend or you may send it to my wife.

Servant Joshua Atieno
