Supplies
Since 1987, thousands of volunteers have helped us paint, roof, and repair hundreds of widows' homes throughout Chattanooga. All of the services that we provide the widows are free, but our supplies are not. We currently have a number of jobs waiting to be done, especially supply-intensive jobs such as wheelchair ramps, porch repair, painting, and roofing. Dear Partners:
The itemized list below is from Dick Mason for summer home repairs on widow's homes. Please consider either donating some of the materials on this list or making a financial donation to help us cover the costs. $25 will buy a gallon of paint and a donation of $500 or more will aid us greatly and will both help us meet our Project 100 goal for 2008, thus insuring that there will be no interruptions in our ongoing help for widows.
Dick can also use a couple of skilled supervisors the weeks of June 23, and June 30 for a couple of hours each day. He will be going to Atlanta on June 16th to begin his prostate cancer treatment and won't be back until June 20th. Please contact either Dick (423-488-3307) or me by email if you can aid Dick during this time. This is a really pressing need as well as Dick and Brenda's need for housing in Atlanta during their stay there. He has an appointment the morning of the 17th at Crawford Long Hospital and then everything else will be done in Decatur. Then in mid-July he will be traveling back and forth to Canton, Georgia for radiation treatments. Please keep all of this in your prayers, we are all entering into unknown territory, which, thankfully, Jesus has gone down this path before us and His mercy endures forever.
